LATEST 11th Hour Counselling NEWS:

11th Hour Outreach – to Marie Stopes Clinic on the 6 June 2009

We arrive at Marie Stopes Clinic, at approximately 08h15, just before opening time. The team split – two stayed at Marie Stopes and three left for Rose Clinic.
As the gates were opened and people were arriving the two of us (Michele and Nontokozo) stood at the entrance passing pamphlets to as many as were going in.
Just as Nontokozo tried to pass a pamphlet to a very young colored girl who had arrived together with tree men, a staff member of the clinic was about to cross the road on her way t the entrance. She shouted at us and threatened to call the police. People were queuing at the door waiting for her to unlock the front door. As we slowly moved away from the gate to avoid her, she shouted several times at us: “You are wasting your time” Then laughed mockingly at us.
But the Lord was good. The very next young woman who arrived seemed disturbed emotionally. I passed her some pamphlets and asked her to please read them. Her attitude was far more open than most girls. The Lord encouraged us, because this was the girl who admitted that she couldn’t get herself to do it. This was confirmation that we were not wasting our time.

For this we thank and praise our Father for the work he had done.

Concerning the young girl who arrived with three men. As one of those men came outside to smoke, I called him and asked whether he could give this girl a pamphlet, as she needs to be informed of the consequences of abortion. He answered that he would give it to her, but that her father wanted to kill her boyfriend. He had fired shots at him with a gun. Never the less, he called the boyfriend out of the Clinic to come and speak to me. We only managed to speak to him through the fence.

I told him that an abortion will only make matter worse. Murdering the child makes them guilty of bloodshed. What if the father still tries to kill him anyway, then two people have died? They should rather make right with God and ask the parents for forgiveness. God will then be with him if he protects the child’s life.

He argued that it was only 5 weeks. I gave him a pamphlet describing the development of an 8 week old baby. But he argued that she was about to write exams. He also acknowledged that he did not love her.

Al we could do was leaving them in the Lords hands and trusts Him to work in the clinic through His Holy Spirit. Later when they all came out, I had an opportunity to speak to the girl and give her our help-line number. She accepted it and waved at me as they left.

We experienced the Lord with us and were thankful for the way it went.
Michele.

Lindiwe passed a pamphlet to a black lady, but she said: She has had 2 children and she knows what she has done. (Possibly a negative reaction)

11th Hour Outreach

We got up at about 5h00. We left the Mission at 5h45. As we drove we sang all the way. We drove well but we had to stop at a bathroom. We stopped at a filling station, the people inside were very unfriendly and unhelpful. This was not strange to me because I somehow new the devil was angry with us coming to his territory. I mentioned this thought to the rest of the team.

As usual we split up into two groups of three to four persons so that we can visit both clinics. We stopped at Marie Stopes first. As we stopped and quickly ate something before we split-up, I saw two cars, the one had a family inside, and the lady came for family planning. In the other car were two young ladies. I got out and handed pamphlets to both cars. Wilhelm spoke with the two young ladies in the car.

We got back into the car, prayed together and left the firs group and travelled on to Rose Clinic. We arrived there, got out and walked to where we would find the Rose Clinic, to my amazement there were no Clinic anymore. I looked around to see if the Clinic had moved to another shop. It was then that I saw a notice board leading into where the lifts of this fifteen story building. The notice read, Rose Clinic, Safe Abortions on the 11th Floor. We decided to go up and have a look at the location of the Clinic. I was a bit discouraged but still asked the Lord how can one tackle this big mountain we are facing? The Clinic was in a “save” and very “comfortable” hallway, right at the end. The Clinic looked like a “friendly and save” doctor’s rooms. The staff waved at me to come inside, but I just sadly nodded no.

Wilhelm and I decided to return to Marie Stopes Clinic to join the rest of the team. On our arrival there we saw that they had a busy morning, cars were parked in the Clinic’s driveway as well as in front of the Clinic. The team he already handed out several tracks to girls that went into the Clinic, all for various reasons such as family planning, pregnancy tests, scan’s and an interesting tactic, to have a free loop. The loop is also a contraceptive device but it also causes micro-abortion.

One of the team members, Michelle told me what she had experienced so far at the Clinic. It was so obvious that we were standing in the middle of a lion’s den. They told me of a mother that brought her 14 year old daughter for a scan and some other girls they spoke with or just handed out tracks, as the Lord lead them.

Just as I turned from Michelle, a beautiful, elegant young woman came out from the Clinic’s gates, she looked at me and said, “I said no, I can’t do it”, I smiled at her and said that I’m happy. I walked with her side by side, by this time she had tears in her eyes. I then spoke with her in a soft, tenderly voice that she must be strong because the devil will come with many different lies, reasons why she should come back to the Clinic. I asked her if she has a work. She replied yes to me, she was a receptionist.

I encouraged her by telling her that the Lord will provide for this baby and that He is the One that knitted this baby in her womb and that this baby is a gift from God. She smiled at me. I invited her to phone the helpline if she has any needs. At this stage I also felt the need to tell her that if she can’t cope keeping the baby that there is another option, which is adoption? She listened attentively. When one’s there you really want to give the girl all the options, so that a life can be saved. She then asked if she wanted to speak to me, what my cell phone number is. I gave it to her. This isn’t something we usually do. She pinned the number into her cell phone thanked me and left.

I turned around with real thankfulness towards the Lord, I prayed in my heart thanking the Lord for working in this girl’s heart. I asked the Lord to help her further on.

Walking back to join the team again, a car stopped in front of the Clinic’s drive way, the parking was full. I went towards the car, the driver which was a young man opened his window and asked me where he can get parking, I took this wonderful opportunity showing him parking just in front of another vehicle. I asked if they wanted to visit the Clinic. He answered yes. I looked over to the other side and saw a girl that was very worried. I asked her if she was pregnant, and she nodded yes, she was four weeks pregnant. Praying in my heart at the same time I started to open a track, I hadn’t even said another word when she immediately said in a defendant voice, “it’s not like that, showing to the picture on the track. I told her, I’m so sorry it is like this, pointing at the picture of an aborted, eight week old baby. The young man’s eyes fell on the track and they both looked at each other and just nodded no. They hardened their hearts, got out and walked towards the Abortion Clinic. I still tried to plead with them but they still went inside. I felt so sorry for them. They don’t realize the consequences and the affect it will have on them as a couple. (Not even mentioning the baby inside this mother womb).

After this my eyes fell on a white van, a man in his late four ties early fifties were sitting inside. Michelle told me he brought his wife and daughter. I took out a track and walked to his man, he opened his window, I gave him the track, urging him to read the track while his wife was inside. I watched from a short distance, he did read the track to my astonishment. After a while the wife came back, while sitting inside I could see the man holding-out the track to her. They spoke; I then decided to approach them. I told the woman if she goes ahead, she’s killing her grandchild. She responded by saying that she’s only bringing her fourteen year old daughter for a scan. She was upset with me. She got out of the car and went back into the Abortion Clinic. The man told me he confronted his wife with the pamphlet, he wanted to know why he got a pamphlet like this one, all about the killing of a baby. He explained to me that he told her that in his house there will be no such thing as killing an unborn child. They will raise this baby. He also said if his wife was busy with something like this behind his back, he’ll find out about it. He assured me that they were Christians.

This fourteen year old girl was at boarding school, expecting a baby. I told the man that I stay on a Mission Station. He knew the Mission, surprisingly. I felt led to speak to this man about his daughter, that there is something wrong in her heart. He then head down acknowledged it. I invited him to come and visit the Mission Station with his whole family. In other words, to come back to the Lord so that things can be set right with Him again. We all need the Lord Jesus so much, every day!

I thank the team for giving me and my husband the privilege going out with them, let’s continue running this race together.

A news paper article:

The community was very cross about a “heartless, inhumanly deed” that occurred at a school in a Free State School, when a teacher helped a pupil(18 years old) to have an abortion long after the 12 week gestation period which is “legal”.
Parents of the school is very upset and threatened to take steps if something were not going to be done about this incident. They wanted the authorities to take steps against this teacher.
This pupil known as “Small” was between 5 and 6 months pregnant. An Abortion can only be done before a woman is 12 weeks pregnant. One of her teachers helped her despite of this fact to get some medication to abort this baby naturally.
An anonymous person known to the parties said that the pupil came to school on the Friday experiencing a lot of stomach pains. Some fellow pupils tried to make plans to get her to a doctor. When she started bleeding, the teachers realized it was a serious matter. An ambulance was phoned.
It was when the ambulance came that the pupil told her fellow students and teachers that she was pregnant and about the teacher that gave her medicine to abort her baby. The girl screamed angrily that she was cross with this teacher that gave her medicine because she was experiencing so much pain.

The Doctor at the hospital said if she had arrived at later time that she had, she would have died. She was in a very bad state medically.

One of the teachers at school wanted to open a case against this teacher and the girl, because both were countable of murder. The police officers then said to the teacher that abortion is legal and this girl was 18, thus is free to abort her baby.

A parent at this school said the she also had a child at this school, she was concerned about her own child and she felt it could happen to any child. She felt that steps had to be taken against this teacher. She said although students have the right to make their own decisions, medicine that help abortion to take place cannot be given after this 12 week gestation. This she said is murder.

The “Volksblad”, from where this article was taken tried to make contact with any of the teachers at this school but none of them were prepared to have any contact. Mr. Solly Nagalefa, a spokesperson for the Department acknowledged that a person was going to investigate this whole matter.
Sergeant Thandi Mbambo, a police spokesperson said if it was the case that a police officer neglected to take steps when a case should have been opened, it is a very serious metter.
