Medical outreach to Zavora with Mercy Air and MSCF

"The Global Positioning System in the instrument panel of the helicopter is confirming what I am seeing through the tropical humid and hot air in the distance. The old Portuguese built lighthouse near Zavora on the eastern shore of southern Mozambique is coming into sight. “Our camp is only 4 kilometers along the sand road from the lighthouse”, I remember Johan Claassen from Doctors for life describing to me on the phone some weeks earlier. Forthcoming outreaches....
The continuation of the Zavora Clinic is vital and we thank all those who volunteered this year. During November another Dutch team (construction and medical) are continuing the work and in December, medical students from MSCF, together with other Health professionals, will stay untill the end of the year. DFL's Medical Outreach to Angola: Marburg virus continues
According to reports from the WHO, BBC and VOA, the marburg virus continues to spread in the northern parts of Angola. DFL started planning a outreach to the southern parts (Cuito Cunevale) approxiately 3 months ago, before the outbreak publicly announced. Between 5 and 16 December, a group of 8 medical students, 3 medical doctors, a lecturer from the Univarsity of Natal, and and other volunteers joined Doctors for Life on an outreach to Zavora , Mozambique .

Bringing medical relief to SA communities and DFL orphan centres
Six medical team members from the USA, a dental assistant from Germany, Dr Albu van Eeden (CEO of DFL) and a combination of volunteers and translators made up the team of 12 people who all shared in the compassion to reach the needy communities and orphan centres in South Africa with medical care.
