AIDS Against the Family DFL produced this 35-minute video to supplement lectures
given in the industrial program. AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases
are discussed while the important role of the family and more specifically
that of the father are emphasised as vital components of the truly effective
management of the dilemma. A second edition incorporating the latest information
on the disease is planned for 2000.
It has a core message of abstinence before and fidelity during marriage;
explains in clear terms the causes and consequences of careless life styles;
encourages fathers to fulfil their God-ordained position in the family,
and is suitable for all categories of industrial workers, students and adults.

HIV pre-counselling "I don’t have time in my practice
to counsel patients for an HIV-test. Please produce a short video which
can give the basic information to patients so that my interview with them
is short but meaningful." (GP in Kwa-zulu Natal)
This 15 minute video is just the answer! "HIV Pre-counselling" covers the
basic information necessary for potentially HIV+ patients to make an informed
decision to have their blood tested. This video, however, does not in any
way relieve doctors of their duty to speak to their patients. It only saves
them time and of course "Time is...............!"

An Introduction to Home Based Care -
HBC A 25-minute video - Doctors For Life
implemented Home Based Care for people with AIDS and other terminal diseases
as an alternative to hospital care. This video is a documentary on the pilot
project in the deep rural area of Msinga in Kwa-Zulu Natal and serves as
an excellent example of how to care for the physical, emotional, social
and spiritual needs of a dying person in his/her own home with the assistance
of family and community members.
